Peanut butter is a favorite ingredient that always makes me think of being a kid. Besides reminding me of PB&J sandwiches, it always makes me think of no-bake cookies, peanut butter blossoms, and peanut butter cup cookies – all of which are longtime favorites of mine.

As an adult, I love it in everything from peanut butter banana bread to peanut butter pie and chocolate-covered peanut butter balls, too. 

So it just makes sense that these big, chewy peanut butter oatmeal cookies are totally my jam. (Get it?)

I don’t need to tell you about my love for lemon again, do I? 

Whether it’s mini lemon cheesecakes, lemon poppy seed scones, or my favorite homemade lemon bars, if you put chocolate and lemon in front of me and ask me to choose, I’m most likely gonna pick the lemon every time.

So when I saw Sarah Rae Vargas make some big lemon cookies on her Instagram, I was in the kitchen almost immediately playing around with the recipe.

I adore all things salted caramel. I go through phases where it’s all I want to bake.

You don’t run a baking site for as many years as I have without developing a bit of an obsession with sprinkles.

I’m a self-professed sugar cookie connoisseur. I’ll take ’em frosted, cut-out, rolled in sugar, soft, chewy, crispy, or straight out of the plastic container from the bakery section at Walmart.

What I’m saying is that I’m fairly obsessed with sugar cookies and I’m honestly not very picky about them.

Wait, maybe that makes me less of a connoisseur and more of a human sugar cookie garbage disposal. Whatevs.

While I do appreciate a beautiful sugar cookie complete with royal icing, I’m more of a buttercream type of girl. And I’m impatient. It’s why I love no-chill sugar cookies when I do want to make cut-outs.

As you can probably guess, my team and I spend a lot of time at the grocery store. And we’ve all been noticing that fresh berries are starting to come back in stock.

In my mind, fresh berries are a sure sign that the seasons are changing, even if it’s still sweatshirt weather here in Ohio. And while peak strawberry season won’t hit my region for a little while yet, I love making recipes that allow even pre-season berries to sing.
