]]>The instant summer hits, I start craving all the pineapple. There’s just something about a perfectly sweet pineapple that is so delicious and refreshing on a hot summer day.
I love to throw it on the grill for simple grilled pineapple, turn it into pineapple fluff, and I really love using it in cakes.
Pineapple upside-down cake might be the most well-known cake that uses pineapple in it, but it’s not the only one! My pineapple cake with cream cheese frosting is always a hit, pineapple angel food cake is a light and fluffy delight, and cherry pineapple dump cake and pineapple dump cake are perfect for taking to any cookout.
And today we’re going to add this easy pineapple cake to that list!

]]>One of the most amazing things about blogging is the incredible friendships you build along the way.
I’ve met a lot of people because of this site, and one of them is my friend Amber who I met way back in 2010 on Twitter. She helped me create custom table markers for an event I was assisting with and we became instant friends.
Amber is from Texas, so when she had her first baby and some of us bloggers threw her a virtual baby shower, I knew I had to bake up something to honor her home state. It was the first time I made Texas sheet cake, but it definitely was not the last!
I might be a Midwestern girl through and through, but I know how to spot good chocolate cake recipes and lemme tell ya – Texas sheet cake is one of the best! Serve it up with some Southern sweet tea for a taste of the South no matter where you live.

]]>I love bananas but I can never seem to use them up before they are way too speckled to eat with my morning Cheerios.
Luckily, that almost always gives me an excuse to bake up something delicious with them!
From strawberry banana muffins to banana cupcakes to banana coffee cake, I’ve got you covered if you also always struggle with a never-ending supply of overly ripe bananas.
And today we’re adding these banana bars with cream cheese frosting to that list!

]]>We are all finally back into our routine. My oldest is back to school, we’ve gotten through the holidays and winter break, and I can get back to work.
So obviously that means it’s time for cake! Cinnamon roll cake, to be exact.
Because I loooooove cinnamon rolls, but I don’t always love how much time they take. (Although I do love making cinnamon rolls with heavy cream as a shortcut!)
But this cake? It’s got all the amazing flavors of that famous breakfast pastry without any of the rising time.
Bake, glaze, and eat. It’s totally one of my new go-to recipes.

]]>Even though I think there should definitely be a place at your Thanksgiving table for apple desserts (especially apple butter cake or apple galette), you know there’s no way I could go through Thanksgiving without a pumpkin dessert or two.
If you love pumpkin pie but don’t want to bother with making an actual pie this year, you’ve got to give this pumpkin gooey butter cake a try.
The assembly is super quick and easy and it’s a great make-ahead dessert, but you’ll still get all of the flavors of your beloved pumpkin pie in every bite.
Honestly, what could be better?

]]>There’s nothing more quintessentially fall than a trip to the apple orchard. And if you live in my house, that trip is always followed up by making at least 1 or 2 batches of my homemade apple butter.
When I was thinking about Thanksgiving recipes this year, I wanted a way to incorporate some of that apple butter. It feels kind of full circle to do that, right?
(I mean besides slathering it all over parker house rolls. That’s a given!)
This apple butter cake is an easy-to-make sheet cake that is topped with brown butter frosting. It has all of the rich flavors of apple butter in a perfectly moist cake. Add in the nutty flavor of the brown butter frosting and this is one incredible dessert!

]]>I know that we haven’t even gotten to Halloween yet, but I am already thinking about Thanksgiving dessert. I’m a dessert person, I can’t help myself!
I’ve been working on a few apple desserts this year for you to add to your Thanksgiving dessert table alongside your pumpkin cheesecake and classic pecan pie.
First up is this homemade apple cake. It’s a cake you can bake the night before and top with some ice cream and caramel sauce when serving. Or you can make it for yourself and enjoy it straight from the pan…not that I have ever been tempted to do that.

]]>With Halloween coming up, I know I can’t be the only one thinking about candy and chocolate.
Don’t worry, I’m still totally into fall flavors like pumpkin, apple, and maple. But it’s good to think about chocolate every once in a while, ok?
This butterfinger poke cake is a super decadent dessert that is delicious any time, but is especially great for Halloween parties. Grab a bag of fun-size Butterfingers and whip up this cake the night before your party.
Or maybe you end up with a bag of Butterfingers left over after Halloween – consider this the recipe to use them up!

]]>I know, I know. It’s September and I’m giving you a lemon recipe.
In my defense, I have tons of fall recipes coming for you really soon. In fact, you’re gonna get a great apple recipe in just a few days!
But lemon has no season. At least, not to me. I can eat it year-round and be totally happy.
So if you think lemon should wait until after fall is over, go ahead and save this lemon poke cake recipe for then. But me? I’ll happily eat it now AND enjoy some apple and pumpkin recipes while I’m at it.
