I rated this a four, because it probably could have used less rolled oats , salted butter would’ve ramped up the flavor & maybe a bit more fruit filling.

I just found it a few weeks ago and the third batch is in the oven right now! The first time I followed the recipe almost exactly – yellow cake mix with raspberry jam – I just sprinkled a cup of mini choco chips on the jam before the topping. Huge hit with choco-loving husband and my young great-nephews! The next version was a chocolate cake mix with strawberry jelly – another win. Then, my niece used apple butter with a spice cake mix. My newest rendition is a lemon cake mix with quince jelly. I am sure it will be great too! I try to bake from scratch but too often time is at a premium. That’s when cake mixes can be magic! This will now be my go-to recipe when I need a quick pan of great cookies! Thanks!

Anyone making this option would also need to use gluten-free oats. These were great, my family of eight vacuumed them right up! Thank you!
